As a service: As a service means that you receive our Surface devices and accessories for use under a rental agreement (on a temporary basis) and we (Surface.Love) as your contractual partner are responsible for maintenance. For this reason, we will also provide you with the Office Direct property insurance policy with deductible for this payment method. In the case of a as a service, it is common to return the equipment after the contract period – a takeover of the equipment is not intended. (As a service: not available in the United Kingdom and in Denmark)
Leasing (Full Amortisation): The fundamental difference between as a service and leasing is that you enter into a contract with our bank. Nevertheless, we remain your contact for all questions concerning the contract. In addition, you as the lessee are obliged to maintain the products – in this case, however, we take over the work for you and you receive a property insurance contract with deductible integrated in the leasing rate. How high this deductible is depends on the value of the shopping cart. Furthermore, in the case of leasing at the end of the term, it is possible to take over the products at the end of the term.
Financing: Financing means that you pay off your contractual selection of Surface devices and accessories in monthly payments. The amount of these payments depends on the length of the financing period. During this period, the extended insurance cover of our partner De Lage Landen Leasing GmbH for hardware and accessories is available for you free of charge. (Financing: not available in Austria and in Denmark)
In the event of malfunction, we will take care of an on-site exchange of the affected devices. Repairs, as well as exchanges will be undertaken within a reasonable time frame. Please note that services such as remote maintenance, SLA or similar is defined within the service level agreement.
The Surface Go, the Surface Pro, the Surface Pro X, the Surface Laptop Go, the Surface Laptop, the Surface Book, the HoloLens and the Surface Studio use Windows 10 Pro. If you choose the as a service or leasing option, you are authorised to fully claim these expenses. Since you do not own the hardware as a hirer or lessee, you do not have to make any write-offs.
If you choose the financing option, please note that you will have to account the depreciation for tax purposes.
As the leasing or as a service period ends, we will take all devices back and consult you regarding the latest devices for a new leasing or as a service term. Within our leasing option you will have the possibility to take over all devices. Our sales team may provide you with all details.
